Conditions of Entry

Welcome to the Clem Jones Aquatic Centre.

We want all patrons to enjoy visiting our Centre. Everyone can play their part by having consideration and respect for our facilities, staff and other patrons.

The Clem Jones Aquatic Centre conditions of entry is as follows:

Age Restrictions

Children aged 14 years old and under must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult (18yrs and over) at ALL times. We follow the Royal Life Saving Society Keep Watch guidelines –

  • For children 0-5 years old and non-swimmers, a parent or guardian (18yrs and over) must be in the water at all times and within arms’ reach of the child/non swimmer.
  • For 6–10-year-olds, constant active supervision is required by a parent or guardian (Be prepared to get wet and enter the water with this age group).
  • For 11–14-year-olds, parents or guardians must physically check on children on a regular basis.

Prohibited Activities

  • NO RUNNING around the pools.
  • NO DIVING into the pools unless authorized by Centre management.
  • NO BACK FLIPS, SOMERSAULTS, BOMB JUMPS or acrobatic entries into the pools unless authorized by Centre management.
  • NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR FILMING unless authorized by Centre management. This includes the use of cameras, audio and video recorders and other recording devices within the facility are strictly prohibited. Under no circumstances are cameras, videos cameras and mobile phones to be used in the changing rooms.
  • NO SMOKING OR VAPING in this facility or within 10 metres of each entrance to the Centre.
  • NO COMMERCIAL FOOD shall be brought into and consumed at the Centre.
  • NO ALCOHOL or glass bottles or containers are permitted at the Centre.
  • NO ILLICIT SUBSTANCES, dangerous or offensive items, weapons, or sharp objects of any kind are permitted in the Centre.
  • NO BALLS or throwing games
  • NO BOOGIEBOARDS or large floating devices
  • NO PETS or animals are permitted to enter this Facility unless authorized by Centre management.
  • NO SCOOTERS/BIKES

Suitable Attire

  • Clean and appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times.
  • NO UNDERWEAR or brief/G-string swimwear permitted.
  • NO CHANGING INTO/OUT OF SWIMMING ATTIRE IN PUBLIC. Patrons must use the changing rooms for undressing and dressing.

Safety and Security

  • Patrons enter and use this facility at their own risk. Management does not accept liability for any injury or death to any person whilst in the Centre.
  • Staff have the right to inspect all bags and coolers to ensure Patrons are complying with the conditions of entry.
  • Patrons using the pool must obey the directions of the lifeguard and all warnings, rules and instruction signs place around the Centre.
  • Abusive, disruptive or threatening behaviour towards fellow patrons or staff will be NOT tolerated and will result in immediate eviction from the Centre.
  • In an emergency, patrons must follow the directions of staff as they direct you to the appropriate exits.
  • Patrons must not obstruct the entry, exit or general movement of anyone using the facilities at the Centre.
  • The Centre, its management and staff do not accept any legal liability or responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to personal property, whether within this facility or elsewhere.
  • Patrons indemnify the Centre, its management and staff against any loss, damage or claim which may arise from their entry or use of the Facility or the entry or use by minors that are under your care or control.
  • Surveillance cameras are in use at the Centre and CCTV footage may be supplied to the Police should patrons be suspected of breaking the law while at the Centre.

Management and/or staff reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person not observing the rules and conditions of entry.
