We are now in countdown mode for the opening of our new gym which will take place for members in 35 days on 14 May 2018.

The official opening of what will be called the Terry Mackenroth Community Gymnasium by the Premier of Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk will take place on Saturday 12 May (invitation only) followed by a members Open Day on Sunday 13 May. The Open Day from 8am until 6pm is designed to provide existing members with an overview of the various facilities and equipment on offer in the new facility. Thereafter the gym will be available for active use from 5am on Monday 14 May.

Installation of the rubber flooring commences today (9 April) which will be followed by the equipment fitout which will commence on 13 April. Other activities this week include installation of our audio / visual systems, CCTV / security systems and IT requirements.

We are also in the process of updating our Group Fitness timetable which will also take effect on Monday 14 May and include a large number of new classes together with all of our popular classes on the existing timetable. Group fitness classes in the new gym will be held in a variety of rooms including Studio 1, Studio 2, The Air Deck, The Velodrome and The Cave. The new timetable will be available to members for preview on Monday 30 April.

Over the initial few months our primary aim is to transition all of our existing members in a seamless fashion prior to marketing the facility to potential new members. Entry to the new gym will be via the car park however there is also internal access from the gym to the Aquatic Centre and vis-versa for those members also wishing to use the pool facilities.

While there is still a lot of work to do, everyone involved is absolutely committed to ensure we meet the deadline and we look forward to presenting this new initiative to all of our supporters.
