The Company

The Clem Jones Centre is located in Carina and it is operated by the Camp Hill Carina Welfare Association, a not for profit organisation providing sport and recreational facilities for the local community with an emphasis on children, the elderly and people with disabilities.

The Centre has seen year on year growth in participation across all sports and facilities for the past ten years. In 2018 The Centre opened its new $5.5m gymnasium and group fitness facility which has seen extraordinary growth in membership.

The Centre

The Clem Jones Centre operates 42 acres of sport and recreational facilities including a large gymnasium and aquatic complex. The Centre is one of the largest and well-regarded facility of its type in South East Queensland with over 8,000 registered players across the various sports in addition to a large gym membership and Learn to Swim School.

The Aquatic complex consists of 2 outdoor heated pools, a children’s novelty pool and an indoor heated pool and is renowned for having excellent water quality and perfectly clean surrounds.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, we seek an experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager/Pool Technician. This is a pivotal role to the centre as it drives the competitive advantage which is to be the cleanest and safest sporting facility in South East Queensland. The Primary responsibility is the maintenance of all the pool facilities including pool plant operations, pool safety standards and hazard prevention.

With the health and safety at the forefront of every decision, some of the day to day responsibilities will include the following;

· The coordination of groundsmen and facility maintenance works

· The management of external trades for higher level maintenance on infrastructure

· Preparation of all swimming facilities prior to opening including pool vacuuming, the checking and testing of water temperature and water quality

· Ensuring that all grounds are maintained and looking pristine for all patrons

· Performing general handyman duties for the entire sporting complex

· Being the go-to person for all handyman, general facility maintenance and pool requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a general handyman who has had previous experience with plant room management and pool operations including also holding a current pool plant certification. You will be passionate about your work, have great inter personal skills and excellent coordination/management skills.

Your strong work ethic, sound knowledge of work health and safety legislative guidelines and your ability to work early mornings and weekends will hold you in great stead for this role.

It would be desirable if you held a current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate, Blue Card and current Pool Lifeguard Certificate or at least have the ability to obtain these quickly.
